This 7-night, 8-day accompanied Chianti Culinary Vacation includes 5 hands-on cooking classes with local chefs, winery visits with tastings and touring medieval hill-top towns across the Tuscan countryside!  Rates are pp and based on double occupancy.

7 nights in charming 4-star quality historical hotels & country resorts of which 2 nights in the historical center of Florence located just a stones throw from Piazza Santa Croce in the charming Palazzo Cecconi and 5 nights in a historic 14th century manor house hotel, Palazzo Leopoldo located in charming Radda-in-Chianti where you have at your disposition spa, in-door pool & restaurants. The hill-top village has lovely shops and magnificent views of the Chianti vineyards.  Room configurations are double occupancy (in Italian queen beds).  Single rooms (solo travelers) will incur a supplemental charge of US$730 for 2022 tours and US$750 for 2023 tours.  In many instances, it is possible to up-grade standard rooms to deluxe/superior or suites on our tours.


During the course of the week in magical Chianti, you will experience FIVE hands-on cooking classes around the Chianti area.  Your kitchens will be in charming farm houses and wineries.  Your instructors will be local Tuscans from the area who love what they do.... cook for others !!  Classes are 3 to 4 hour sessions and will generally include 4 course meals (with the exception of the Pasta Making day where we will be eating primarily various types of pastas following the lesson) with local wines. Following each lesson we eat all that was prepared as one big happy Italian family!  You don't need to have any experience in cooking, we'll show you the ropes!

Classes are designed to give a real hands-on approach showcasing the tradition of Tuscany cooking. While lessons are in different locations around Chianti the common thread is the same throughout....  a love of Italian food and culture!

You'll be in the hands of the chefs of wineries, local restaurants and professional culinary instructors around Chianti. Lessons will generally include: Antipasti, Primi (starter which often is pasta, soup, vegetable based dish), Secondo (entrees) which will include a protein or vegetable based and Dolci.  Instructors will bring to the lessons their flair and unique specialties in their kitchens.

Each participant will receive their own Tasting Tuscany Apron and Recipes following each lesson.


ALL breakfasts and either lunch or dinner daily are included during the 8 day period as indicated in the itinerary.  Cooking classes will take the place of meals when scheduled during lunch or dinner, other meals are included as per itinerary.


There are 2 winery tours in the Chianti region with tastings that generally include 3-4 varieties of wines. 


The tour begins at the hotel on day one. Taxi service is readily available upon your arrival at the Florence airport and train station, however should you desire, we are happy to arrange a private transport using our wonderful driver Alessandro to get you to our Florence hotel (not included in tour fees). Kindly let us know when booking should you want this additional transfer from the Florence airport.


All land transportation is provided as per the tour specific itinerary's destinations and excursions. At the tour end, we will arrange for transfers from the Chianti residence to the Florence train station SMN, the Florence airport or our Florence hotel or winery resort should you be continuing your stay (not included in tour fees).  Airport departures prior to 1:30 pm on the last day will require a transfer by either taxi or private driver which is NOT included in tour fees. 


There are 3 city tours led by licensed guides: Florence, Siena and San Gimignano in addition to the country tour to Pienza & Cortona. Included in City Tours are entrance tickets to the Uffizi in Florence. Moderate walking is involved on this tour. It is strongly suggested to pack comfortable walking shoes as all historical towns we visit have hard stone streets.


Maximum of 12 guests, not too many but just enough!


Our licensed tour guides and coach drivers are selected because of their expertise and people skills.  We feel it important to let them know if they are doing a great job and tips are always appreciated. We do suggest tips Euro 5-10 per day for guides and Euro 5-10 for our coach drivers.

Days 1 & 2

Our amazing 7 night 8 day, all inclusive Tuscan culinary adventure begins in Florence where you will spend the first 2 nights. You will have an early morning guided city tour (from a "foodies' perspective") with your private guide visiting the many iconic sites in the city. You'll  mingle with the Florentines while strolling the narrow streets, stopping for a morning "espresso" at your local cafe' .... oh, and  a freshly made pastry, can't forget that!  You will end up at the central food market where up on the upper level you will be astonished at what you will discover ! The aromas, the food, the noise of vendors and the bustle of locals doing their morning shopping.... it's total excitement! Yes, we have included a good amount of culture as you will be taken to see the landmarks of this museum city from the Duomo, Palazzo Pitti, Il Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Trinita' in addition to a visit to the "Uffizi Gallery".  There will be an afternoon free so that you can explore on your own and shop. 

Cooking Vacations are designed to make your holiday with us as busy as you desire, should you want to take part in all the activities then this is up to you or should you wish to take a day off and sit in the sun, it's your choice, no problem!  We supply group transport throughout the week, no car rentals are needed!    


Days 3 - 8

You will be transferred to the country residence on day 3. The 4 star charming country hotel is situated atop the the hills in central Tuscany in the village of Radda-in-Chianti and is surrounded with countless wineries within 30 minutes. You will be able to explore the town and shop should you desire or take advantage of the indoor pool or outdoor spa.


Just imagine cooking with locals in Chianti!  When you aren't in the kitchen you'll be either on an excursion visiting a winery and tasting, visiting a cheese producer and tasting, visiting hill-top towns and their cathedrals, how about truffle hunting (fall only, weather permitting) or just "chill'en by the pool"! Can you see yourself strolling the cobblestone streets of the medieval villages, tasting local wines at some of the areas most majestic wineries,  eating fresh pasta that you actually made?!  

Cooking in Chianti includes 5 hands-on classes where locals will be showing you their culinary secrets.  Classes are hands-on, which means you will be actually preparing the dishes! We sing and dance in the kitchens as the objective is to enjoy while we cook!  Classes take place in various locations in the Chianti area that include an 1100-year-old abbey, a hamlet setting farmhouse, and wineries, wherever we are cooking, the atmosphere will be a top priority!  The emphasis during the week will be on Farm to Table which is so important in the Tuscan kitchen.  In addition to home-made pasta, you'll be preparing many typical dishes using lots of organic veggies, wonderful extra virgin olive oils, and local cheeses.  You will receive recipes at each class.  There is one session dedicated to only pasta where we will be hosted at our friend Roberto's winery located in Chianti Classico.  You will have a wonderful olive oil session, naturally tasting and learning what makes an extra virgin oil.

What's a cooking vacation without visiting wineries and tasting local Chianti wines? You will be visiting 3 area wineries with tastings.   You will be taken to explore the medieval hill-top towns of  San Gimignano, Siena as well as local villages of Gaiole & Greve-in-Chianti in addition to a half day country tour and visit tthe enchanting towns of Pienza & Cortona. While in Cortona you will be taken on a walking tour of this lovely town and you will be met by your cooking instructor to do some shopping for the afternoon cooking class held in a lovely rustic Tuscan farm-house located near Cortona. You'll visit markets in Florence & in Chianti, take hikes in the woods and even hunt for truffles (weather permitting).  If you are a cheese lover, then you are in the right place as you will be visiting a cheese farm and will be seeing first hand how the amazing "pecorino"/goat cheese are made and yes, tasting is required! We have a special excursion in store for our group as we wil be visiting a magnificent abbey, the Monte Oliveto Maggiore, a benedictine Monestary which will leave you with your mouths open in amazement.  Our farewell dinner will be a wonderful meal put together by our chef at the hotel in Radda.

An amazing week full of cooking with the locals, site-seeing, winery visits with tastings, oil oil mills and tastings, pecorino cheese farm visit,  market visits, guided city tours... an experience of a life time!
