Your journey begins in Florence where you will be immersed in the Renaissance culture with monuments and art in every corner of this spectacular city. You will be guided on a private city tour uncovering the Medici's & Michelangelo's influence on the culture and power of the "Florentine Republic". You will be visiting the Uffizi Gallery in addition to Palazzo Davanzati as your guide takes you through the history of the Medici family, the most perfectly preserved merchant home in Italy. We could not allow you to visit Florence without a stop at the Accademia Gallery where Michelangelo's David is showcased. You will walk the narrow winding streets of the city center and visit the Oltrano or the "other side of the river" where you will see artisans in their shops, family owned restaurants and elegant clothing stores. Florence is actually an outdoor museum as you will see as your guide takes you through the main square "Piazza della Signoria" of the city with the architecture that blends pre-Renaissance and that of the 1800's in a way that appears natural.
After a good dose of Florentine art & culture you will transfer to a 4 star deluxe winery located in northern Chianti for 2 nights to experience the majestic setting of the Tuscan countryside. There, you will have a wonderful cooking class, a tour of the castle and vineyards and naturally a tasting followed by a wonderful dinner. A day excursion is on the agenda to the city of towers, or better known as San Gimignano. Following your guided visit of this medieval hill-top city you wil be taken across the valley to the winery "Il Poggio Alloro" where you will taste their wines followed by a Tuscan lunch on their panoramic veranda overlooking the countryside and San Gimignano.
The final 3 days of the tour takes place in the magical city of Venice, home of the Doges, canals and amazing food. You will be transferred by 1st class train from Florence to Venice. After settling in at your hotel, you will be taken on a City Tour visiting the iconic spots on the island as well as some of the more special hidden gems. You will visit St. Mark's Square, the Basilica or the church of Venice as well as as special Food & Wine City Tour known as "cicchettis & vin". A stay in Venice wouldn't be complete without a ride with the Venetians blue & white stiped gondolier and of course a visit to the islands of Murano and Burano where the art of glass blowing and lace making has existed for centuries. You will have time to explore and get lost on your own in this romantic setting.
