Your journey begins in Florence where guests will be immersed in the Renaissance culture with monuments and art in every corner of this spectacular city. You will be taken on a private city tour uncovering the Medici's & Michelangelo's influence on the culture and power of the "Florentine Republic". You will be visiting the Uffizi Gallery as your guide takes you through more than 600 years of history. You will be guided through the history of the Medici family as you are taken to visit the Palazzo Davanzati, the most perfectly preserved merchant home in Italy. We could not allow you to visit Florence without a stop at the Accademia Gallery. You will walk the narrow winding streets of the city center and visit the Oltrano or the "other side of the river" where you will see artisans in the shops, family owned restaurants and elegant clothing stores. Florence is actually an outdoor museum as you will see as your guide takes you through the main square of the city with architecture that blends pre-Renaissance and that of the 1800's in a way that appears natural.
Upon a good dose of Florentine art & culture, you will transfer to a 4 star deluxe winery located in northern Chianti for 2 nights to experience the majestic setting of the Tuscan countryside. There you will have a wonderful cooking class, a cellar tour and tasting as well as a wonderful dinner. A day excursion from the winery to the city of towers or otherwise known as San Gimignano where you will be taken to explore this charming hill-top city (and shop). We will cross the valley and visit a family run organic winery "Il Poggio Alloro" where we will have wonderful Tuscan lunch and taste some of their wines on their panoramic veranda which overlooks the majestic country-side and San Gimignano.
The final 3 days of the tour takes place in the magical city of Venice, home of the Doges, canals and amazing food (1st class train transfer). After settling in at your hotel you will be taken to visit St. Mark's Square, the Basilica or the Church of Venice in addition to the Doges Palace. You will experience a Foodie & Wine City Tour locally known as "cicchettis & vin". A stay in Venice wouldn't be complete without a ride with the Venetians blue & white stripped gonodalier and of course a visit to the islands of Murano & Burano where the art of glass blowing has existed for centuries. You will have time to explore on your own in this romantic setting.
